The Role

HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to conduct moderately complex financial reporting/operational data assignments as required with minimal supervision.

(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

  • Maintains and updates financial systems
  • Assists in preparing the internal financial package
  • Performs moderately complex financial analyses
  • Maintains and updates the Company's SAP financial management system
  • Prepares elimination entries for consolidated inter-company balances, as needed
  • Supports the SEC reporting team for quarterly and annual report preparation
  • Supports FICO (Finance/Controlling) master data across the HFC system landscape
  • Records topside entries
  • Maintains and reviews daily and period foreign exchange (FX) rate processes
  • Reviews the consolidation of the Corporate Annual Budget
  • Prepares presentations in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and/or SAP as needed and applicable
  • Assists others with analyses, reports, and financial systems
  • May conduct financial analysis projects
  • Assists with information requests from outside auditors during quarterly and annual reviews

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

A minimum of three year's progressive accounting experience, including internal financial reporting and analysis are required.

Preferred Experience:

SEC reporting and SAP experience is preferred.

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, in accounting or finance or related field, required.

Preferred Education Level:

Master's Degree or CPA is preferred.

Ability to perform moderate to complex financial reporting projects including GAAP research. Ability to comprehend, assess, and research GAAP issues. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, and intermediate experience with financial software. Strong understanding of finance concepts and procedures. Proficient with spreadsheet, database and word processing applications; ability to perform unstructured tasks; ability to effective communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills; detail oriented; ability to work independently; intermediate reading and writing skills, and the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
