The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining deep customer relationships to drive account revenue retention and growth. By collaborating with internal partners, the Account Manager is responsible to deliver exceptional service and solutions to our clients. The person will manage a defined book of business or group of accounts (regulators, banks, corporates or other financial institutions) in the territory and will be accountable for the commercial success of all deals; the person needs to develop deep customer knowledge and relationships to drive client retention and drive new sales opportunities across a set of accounts with various strategic complexity/priority.
This is a Quota bearing role with quarterly targets - Revenue retention, sales, and administration of accounts.
Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
Possess a deep understanding of the range of client business environment and the challenges in their territory
Demonstrate deep understanding of the customer strategy (short and long term), objectives, high knowledge of client’s decision makers (including C-level) organigram, priorities and needs
Maintain solid understanding of LSEG propositions to initiate conversations and raise interest
Build and embed a long-term trusted advisor relationship within their accounts as well as strong relationship with client C-level and other decision makers
Create an account plan with a clear strategy (short and long term) defining specific actions for driving growth by expanding LSEG footprint. This involved cross division collaboration with stakeholders in customer success, implementation, helpdesk and sales.
Update (daily) CRM with sales activities, forecast & pipeline/ account hygiene (renewals and sales opportunities)
Focus on maintaining overall customer engagement and expanding and retaining managed net revenue
Oversee all commercial activities within accounts, owning the end-to-end customer relationship
Manage internal and external stakeholders and maintain networks to negotiate and close deals
Interact with industry peers with finesse; familiar with relevant industry acronyms/jargon
Support credit management in debt collection
Qualifications and Experience Required:
6-8 years of sales experience in the financial industry and or fintech space
Languages: English (strong command of language is a must), French (good to have)
Relevant degree or equivalent; University/college degree may be required; equivalent experience may be considered depending on position/department
Proficient and experienced across all areas of sales and relationship management/ customer facing roles
Strong ability to develop and complete a sales plan, ability to use a variety of technology with a high level of proficiency
Strong understanding of customers and their business model and workflows/ advanced industry knowledge
Professional certifications recommended
Significant work experience in applicable industry and knowledge of customer workflow required
Selling skills (identity, develop and articulate a complex proposition/consultative selling)
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
Problem solving--ability to understand, articulate, structure and solve client needs
Presentation and communication skills: ability to deliver presentations and communicate at all levels within an organization
