About the Role

Please note: This is an in-office role based in our Carlsbad office. We believe face-to-face collaboration is key in delivering an exceptional customer experience and building a high-performing team.

As an Account Manager at XILO, you’ll own post-onboarding relationships with strategic accounts. You’ll be responsible for driving customer outcomes, increasing retention, and identifying growth opportunities. In the first 60 days, you’ll complete technical configuration work to build a deep understanding of how our platform operates. Once ramped, you’ll fully transition into managing accounts and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, understands technical workflows, and wants to help shape a world-class customer experience at an ambitious startup.

Key Responsibilities

First 30–60 Days: Technical Ramp-Up

  • Complete 20+ points of configuration work per week using XILO’s internal point system.
  • Deliver work that passes QA on the first attempt.
  • Shadow onboarding and internal handoffs to understand account structure and workflow.

Post-Ramp: Account Management

  • Own a book of active post-onboarding customer accounts.
  • Run regular check-ins to track value delivered, manage risk, and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Maintain customer health scores and proactively flag risks.
  • Build relationships across multiple stakeholders and lines of business.
  • Partner with onboarding and support teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Log and manage customer activity in Salesforce and other internal systems.

What Success Looks Like

  • Your accounts renew at a high rate (90%+ GRR) and expand consistently (120%+ NRR).
  • Customers view you as a strategic partner and product expert.
  • You contribute to building a scalable, repeatable post-onboarding playbook.
  • Your accounts experience high satisfaction and minimal churn.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–4 years of experience in a customer-facing SaaS role (Account Manager, Onboarding, Implementation, etc.).
  • Strong technical aptitude with a desire to deeply understand the product.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving startup where playbooks are still being written.

Technical Skills Required

In this role we're looking for someone who can get involved in configuring the product to assist their customers when they need urgent assistance. You must be:

  • Extremely tech savvy.
  • Able to navigate new systems quickly and easily.
  • Ideally have experience with ClickUp, Salesforce and similar systems.

Bonus If You Have

  • Experience with Salesforce, ClickUp, or Intercom.
  • Familiarity with insurance or agency operations.
  • A background in both account management and hands-on technical project work.
