Job Description
The Account Manager owns the event client relationships end to end, which includes the scope, the budget, the resourcing, and the outcome. They set the strategic and financial terms of an account along with Creative and Content and Sales at Unbridled, and ensure the right people are deployed to deliver against them. The Account Manager decides, account by account, whether to lead day-to-day execution personally or delegate it to a Producer or Project Manager — and stays accountable for the outcome.Key Responsibilities
- Determine and own the relationship: serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor, building understanding of each client's needs, goals, and success metrics for their respective projects.
- Hold scope and budget oversight: define and manage account scope, budgets, and profitability, flagging risk or opportunity early.
- Direct resourcing: determine staffing needs across each account and coordinate with Producers/Project Managers to ensure coverage.
- Lead contractor negotiation: source, negotiate, and manage contractor and vendor relationships required to service the account.
- Own account paperwork and financial accountability: contracts, SOWs, budget tracking, invoicing accuracy, and reconciliation.
- Own retention and identify potential growth: drive renewal and potential expansion within assigned accounts, and identify opportunities to grow scope thoughtfully.
- Run the account cadence: lead regular check-ins and forward-looking planning conversations so partners and clients experience continuity and proactive guidance, not just reactive execution.
- Protect scope and margin: prevent scope creep through clarity, change-order discipline, and direct partner/client conversations when timelines or budget are at risk.
- Manage account health: monitor delivery quality and client satisfaction and escalate or resolve issues before they become risks.
- Partner with Media production team: brief and align Producers/PMs on client goals, budget guardrails, and account context so execution runs smoothly.
- Decide the delegation model per account: determine when to lead day-to-day execution directly versus delegate it to a Producer or Project Manager, based on account complexity, stakes, and bandwidth.
- Client retention rate across assigned accounts
- Account-level margin health and profitability
- Client satisfaction and qualitative feedback
- Forecast accuracy on account pipeline
- Scope-change frequency and control
- Proven experience managing client relationships in an agency, production, or marketing services environment.
- Strong commercial acumen: comfortable owning budgets, scope, and profitability conversations.
- Track record of directing cross-functional teams (production, creative, contractors) without owning execution directly.
- Comfortable having hard conversations on scope, budget, and timelines with confidence and clarity.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both with clients and with vendors/contractors.
- Organized and detail-oriented, particularly around contracts, budgets, and financial reconciliation.
- Low ego, high ownership — puts the relationship and the company first.
