The Role
Kafene is a leading point-of-sale financing partner dedicated to empowering flexible ownership solutions for underserved customers nationwide. By enabling our retail partners to offer flexible lease-to-own (LTO) purchase options for prime and nonprime consumers, Kafene helps merchants grow their customer base, and meet growing demand for furniture, appliances, electronics, tires and other durable goods. Utilizing more than 20,000 data inputs in tandem with cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies, our platform creates a best-in-class experience for both merchants and customers. As an Account Manager (RBC), you will play a key role in driving sales growth and building strong partnerships with retail clients in your assigned territory. This territory may evolve based on business needs, providing opportunities for greater influence and professional development. This role requires reliable transportation, as it involves a minimum of three days of travel per week, including overnight stays and occasional air travel within the assigned region. Additionally, responsibilities include maintaining regular communication with existing partners, effectively managing CRM systems, and collaborating with internal teams to drive business success. By leveraging data-driven insights, you will help enhance partner performance, increase product adoption, and contribute to overall business growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for retail partners, fostering strong, long-term relationships.
  • Conduct regular in-store visits, follow-ups, and phone check-ins to maintain engagement and support partner success.
  • Deliver sales and training presentations to drive product adoption and business growth.
  • Provide quarterly business reviews, leveraging data insights to optimize partner performance.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets, KPIs, and growth initiatives.
  • Negotiate agreements with retail partners to maximize revenue and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with retailers to integrate marketing strategies and technology solutions (e.g., POS systems).
  • Work closely with sales leadership, marketing, and product teams to align on business objectives and implement innovative growth strategies in the lease-to-own market.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations, proactively addressing any issues.

Who you are:

  • Sales professional with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management—preferably in retail, finance, or lease-to-own industries.
  • A go-getter with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a client-first mindset.
  • Experienced in building and maintaining strong client relationships with a consultative approach to sales.
  • Adept at managing multiple accounts, keeping things organized, and handling competing priorities with ease.
  • A natural communicator with excellent phone etiquette, presentation skills, and the ability to engage audiences in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and data analysis tools to track performance and drive sales growth.
  • A problem-solver who takes initiative, adapts quickly, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, handling sensitive business information with integrity.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary: Earn a competitive base salary ranging from $80,000 - $90,000.
