About the role:

Our Commercial team are now looking for an Account Manager who can forge strong business relationships with key stakeholders and help drive our success across the Gisborne district. As we continue to grow and invest in our Commercial offering now has never been a better time to progress your career within Bunnings.  

This unique Account Management role is focused on an existing portfolio across Trades, Organisations and Builders whilst having the opportunity to grow through identifying new business and re-activating previous customers. To be successful in this role you can expect to personally develop strategies and plans in order to target growth opportunities, establish new relationships whilst repairing old ones. You will have a strong knowledge of the industry whilst having confidence in cold calling and client visits, and though an ability to read building plans is not essential it would be beneficial.

Working across the Gisborne district, you will inherit a high-performing and well-established customer base of approximately 50+ customers, including accounts up to $2 million per annum. You will also have the opportunity to work closely alongside the current Account Manager during a transition period prior to their retirement, ensuring a smooth handover and strong customer continuity.

In this role, you will drive and execute the strategic sales plans of Bunnings through use of your expertise and knowledge in our large range of products and services. You will work collaboratively with our other members of the Bunnings team ensuring that our customers are provided with the very best Price, Range and Service.

You can expect to work closely with our Bunnings Warehouse Gisborne team as well as our Commercial Services team across New Zealand.

This role offers you the opportunity to join a high performing friendly team. Reporting directly to the Area Sales Manager – Trade, you are a knowledgeable and experienced sales professional who can confidently engage in supporting and converting new business opportunities ensuring that our customers receive the most appropriate, value-added solutions that suit their business needs.

You’ll need:

  • Develop and implement strategies to manage and exceed KPI’s and Gross Profit budgeted sales across our channel

  • Selling product and/or solutions targeting the customers “whole of build”

  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally to grow our market share and identify opportunities for new business

  • Develop and execute strategies to address local opportunities and combat competitor activities

  • Develop, implement and manage a budget that is aligned to company expectations

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Bunnings network to ensure our Trade customers are provided with the very best Price, Range and Service

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety

Skills Required

  • Sales experience and knowledge of the building, trades, or related industry
