About the Role

Dow Jones is looking to strengthen its Institutional Sales organisation in Germany and Austria with an Account Manager who can develop new business and grow an existing portfolio of corporate and financial-institution customers.

Your main responsibility will be to strengthen Dow Jones’ position across both markets by identifying new opportunities and developing and retaining key accounts in a defined territory. You will build relationships with senior stakeholders, understand their business and regulatory priorities, and position Dow Jones Professional Information Services as a strategic solution.

You will work closely with our specialist teams, Marketing, Product and Customer Success to deliver a seamless, joined-up customer experience, while identifying and developing relevant opportunities across the broader One Dow Jones portfolio. You will report to the Regional Sales Manager.


Our flagship offering in this market is Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, helping organizations identify, assess and manage risks related to anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, know-your-customer (KYC), counterparty risk and supply-chain due diligence.

Through our One Dow Jones approach, we complement our Risk & Compliance capabilities with relevant solutions and specialist expertise from across Dow Jones. This includes Global Risk Insights (GRI), our geopolitical risk offering, helping clients better understand and anticipate geopolitical developments and their potential impact on their business and risk environment.

You Will

  • Grow revenue across Germany and Austria, with a focus on new business and key accounts in a defined territory.
  • Retain and growing existing revenue through renewals, cross-selling and up-selling.
  • Build and maintain relationships across accounts and functions, including senior-level stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute account and territory plans focused on key accounts and priority verticals.
  • Lead discovery, proposals, commercial discussions and negotiations, with specialist support where appropriate.
  • Represent Dow Jones at industry conferences, client forums and other customer-facing events, building relationships with key stakeholders, strengthening our market presence and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records, pipeline updates and forecasts.
  • Work with Marketing on targeted campaigns and local market initiatives.
  • Gatheri and communicate information about market developments, competitors and customer requirements.
  • Share customer feedback and market insight with Sales, Product and Marketing teams.

You Have

  • B2B sales or account-management experience, ideally within business information, SaaS, Research & advisory, Risk & Compliance or related professional services.
  • A proven track record of generating new revenue and growing existing accounts through cross-selling and up-selling.
  • The ability to understand complex organisations and translate customer needs, expectations and business priorities into clear value.
  • Strong account-planning, territory-management, negotiation and forecasting skills.
  • Initiative, discipline and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and German is essential. Additional languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Germany and Austria.

Base Pay Range: €65,000 - €85,000
