The Role:

ATNZ is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Account Manager to provide tailored training, assessment, mentoring and support to Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC) apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey. You will work closely with apprentices and host companies to support learner success, build strong industry relationships, and identify opportunities for apprenticeship growth and workforce development

When you’re not out visiting host companies and apprentices, this is a work‑from‑home role.

Use your industry experience and expertise to support learner success through mentoring, assessment, feedback, and other educational activities, including potential practical training and assessment responsibilities as required.

This role is Auckland based. Experience and a background in Refrigeration & HVAC is essential.

Qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Interest or experience working with young people
  • A Level 4 (or higher) trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (HVAC&R/RAC)
  • Minimum four years' experience working in the HVAC&R industry
  • Experience with or ability to obtain fit testing certification
  • People management experience within an operational environment 
  • Understanding of NZ Employment legislation and Health and Safety legislation
  • Advanced trade certification would be an advantage
  • Sales Training and/or qualification/experience would be an advantage
  • Workplace Assessor 4098 certification would be an advantage
  • Adult education certificate or training delivery qualification and/or experience would be useful
  • Understanding of Education or Training industry would be beneficial

Skills and attributes:

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage your own territory effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of the customer
  • Excellent communicator with strong presentation and facilitation skills, capable of engaging learners and creating a positive learning experience.
  • Passion for developing, training and supporting apprentices
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with apprentices, host companies and industry stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Ability to manage time effectively
