Sent is a unified messaging API that intelligently routes messages across SMS, WhatsApp, iMessage, and other channels - automatically identifying which channel a consumer prefers to reduce messaging costs by 90% while enabling global reach.

Recently closed $5.1M Seed round backed by Companyon Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, UIF, and CEAS Investments. We're scaling rapidly to enable the next generation of business messaging.

The Role

We're hiring a Founding AE to grow our customer base of developer-first companies and scaling startups. You'll own the full sales cycle, work closely with technical founders and CTOs, and help define efficient sales execution in the messaging API space.

This is perfect for someone who thrives in startup environments, understands API sales cycles, and wants to work at the intersection of technical and commercial.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution

- Own full sales cycle from lead to close for SMB and mid-market accounts

- Build pipeline through creative outbound and consistently hit revenue targets

- Structure deals based on message volume and multi-channel requirements

Technical Discovery & Demos

- Run technical discovery to understand current messaging infrastructure and pain points

- Partner with GTM Engineers to demo intelligent routing capabilities and ROI impact

- Navigate technical buying committees including developers, product managers, and finance

Customer Engagement

- Educate customers on how Sent reduces costs while improving deliverability

- Ensure smooth handoffs to implementation team for customer success

Required Qualifications

- 2+ years in technical sales, preferably selling APIs or developer tools

- Strong understanding of developer workflows and API-first products

- Ability to run consultative, value-driven sales process with technical buyers

- Comfortable discussing webhooks, REST APIs, and integration patterns

- Consistent track record meeting or exceeding quota in startup environment

- Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

- Experience with modern sales tools (Salesforce, Outreach, Gong)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience selling to technical buyers (CTOs, engineering leads)

- Previous experience at API-first or infrastructure company

- Natural curiosity about how businesses use messaging to engage customers

Compensation & Benefits

- OTE: $220,000 - $300,000 with uncapped commission
