Summary:
• The Account Executive is Creative Services’ primary contact with marketing clients.
• In this capacity, the Account Executive owns the client relationship and manages the efficient and effective implementation of Marcom plans by ensuring that objectives, strategies and tactics are sound and align with both the clients’ desired outcomes and Creative Services’ capabilities.
• The Account Executive must have the ability to distill client input for print, web and video initiatives into coherent, actionable language – usually in the form of a Creative Brief – for client approval and Creative Team assignments.
• The Account Executive must have the ability to lead meetings in a professional manner, set expectations, push back or renegotiate terms and timelines while encouraging a positive, respectful, team-oriented environment.
• The Account Executive works with significant autonomy and independence and is expected to stay current with B2B marcom best practices.
Accountability:
• Owns the client relationship and works proactively to manage expectations and negotiate positive outcomes to ensure long-term business success for our clients and Creative Services.
• Provides project and client leadership, work direction and feedback to the team assigned to the project.
• Serves as the advocate for the client within Creative Services, and the advocate for Creative Services with the client.
• Identifies and helps resolve challenges related to schedules, budgets, and project communication.
• Oversees Account Coordinators and supervises project progress including schedules and performance against the project plan, resolving issues that may impact successful project completion.
• Conducts project meetings to ensure alignment across teams and ensures there are clear “next steps” recapped in meeting summaries to the team.
• Ability to understand print and e media marketing metrics and make recommendations based on results.
• Owns all steps in “Account Executive Core Requirements” (available separately but described above)
Responsibilities:
• Work directly with financial manager to verify purchase orders and invoices as needed.
• Write project specs for solicitation of bids on all external agency projects.
• Communicate spend activity regularly to manager.
• Draft creative labor budget estimate proposals for non-retainer clients and retainer clients as requested.
Education:
• College degree in Marketing Communications or related field
• Minimum 4-6 years agency (or corporate/in-house) account support experience and/or 3-5 years experience in project management with solid, demonstrated marketing communications experience.
Skills:
• Working understanding of print, e-marketing and video in an agency environment
• Fluency in marketing communication objectives, strategies, tactics and terminology
