The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Serve as one of the first sales hires, running deals from first outreach to signature and creating your own pipeline. You will collaborate with company leadership, technical staff and customers to refine how the team sells and whom it targets.
What you'll do
- Run the entire sales process, from prospecting and discovery through technical evaluation, security and legal review, procurement, negotiation and close.
- Build trusted relationships with technical decision makers and uncover both their technical challenges and their business priorities.
- Work alongside engineers during product evaluations and pilot projects.
- Set up repeatable outbound, qualification and closing practices from scratch.
- Share lessons from customer conversations with product and go-to-market colleagues.
- Contribute to defining the target customer profile, the sales approach and the structure of a future sales team.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- At least 3 years of closing software deals across the full sales cycle, though standout candidates with less closing time may be considered.
- A history of selling to a technical audience.
- Excellent questioning and communication skills, with the ability to connect technical problems to business value.
- Confidence presenting to both hands-on technical staff and senior executives.
- A track record of results that can be verified, including quota performance, promotions and steady tenure.
- Self-motivation to generate your own opportunities and create structure without dedicated support staff.
- Ability to work on-site five days a week in San Francisco; relocation may be considered.

- Experience managing long, complex deals with many stakeholders.
- Time spent at a startup during a period of rapid growth.
- An engineering-oriented background, such as a computer science degree or a prior technical role.

Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD 125,000 to 150,000 per year
