ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE,

Wilson Hartnell, Ireland’s largest and one of the longest established PR agencies in Ireland, and a part of the Ogilvy global network, has a very exciting opportunity for an ambitious, creative, and highly motivated Account Executive to join its award-winning Sports Marketing and Sponsorship team. The position offers an excellent career opportunity to join our dynamic team working on an outstanding portfolio of Irish and international brand names.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a confident, creative, and highly capable communications professional with at least one year’s experience. 

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of the media, social and influencer landscape in Ireland and a passion for sport and the latest trends in culture. Someone who will work well in a busy team environment, managing multiple projects across various consumer clients, at the same time.  We are looking for someone who will bring creative ideas to the fore and who will deliver outstanding work and client service across the board.

Salary will be market related, reflecting the position, the level of experience required, as well as each candidate’s individual skillset and capability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organise and coordinate client activities such as events, content shoots, and press trips, ensuring efficient logistics and adherence to deadlines.
  • Manage press office activities, including media list development, earned media outreach, and drafting compelling written materials (e.g. press releases, briefing documents, media notices).
  • Maintain client records and administrative processes, demonstrating high organisation and a proactive, deadline-focused approach.
  • Communicate effectively and personably with clients, media, and colleagues, building strong relationships.
  • Show initiative and sound judgment in day-to-day tasks, contributing to problem-solving and demonstrating accountability with increasing independence.
  • Actively engage in AI upskilling and leverage WPP Open AI platforms, while supporting financial administration and new business development efforts. 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Early career PR agency experience, ideally within sport, consumer, or culture sectors.
  • A naturally digitally and social media savvy individual with a passion for cultural trends.
  • Excellent copywriting skills and a strong understanding of earned-first media.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple tasks with a deadline-focused approach.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, demonstrating sound judgment and accountability.
  • Personable and possessing strong communication skills for effective client and media engagement.
  • Foundational knowledge of core social media platforms and an interest in AI tools for PR.
  • Eagerness to learn about measurement, evaluation, and demonstrating campaign impact.
  • Proven initiative and ability to work with increasing independence, knowing when to seek guidance.
