We are seeking a seasoned, strategic Account Director with a strong background in the automotive industry, particularly in Tier 2 or Tier 3, and substantial experience as an Account Director within a creative agency. The ideal candidate will be based in Houston, Texas, and must be open to travel. This role is designed for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is comfortable both managing and executing work, and has a passion for driving creative marketing initiatives forward.

Your role is to:

  • Lead day-to-day strategy development in collaboration with Creative Director and Project Manager– distilling client needs into a clear and actionable plan and/or creative brief 
  • Pull together inputs across campaign performance, media plans, business objectives, and creative trends to make strategic recommendations
  • Develop creative briefs, strategic approaches, and testing matrices that inspire digital solutions that meet Client’s business objectives and consumer needs.
  • Analyze broad performance metrics and deliver relevant insights and actionable recommendations
  • Act as a proactive, positive and influential partner to clients–– helping to grow their business with smart and strategic thinking 
  • Demonstrate a clear point of view on digital marketing strategy, articulating this through various touch points with clients, internal teams, and partner agencies.
  • Spearhead innovative thinking that inspires the creative team and educates clients.
  • Lead client presentations, strategic discussions, and cross-agency meetings.
  • Manage internal team members and external vendors, ensuring proper resourcing for accounts and projects.

 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in digital advertising, with at least two years of focus on automotive clients, ideally within Tier 2 and Tier 3.
  • Proven experience as an Account Director within a creative agency, leading campaigns and projects for high-profile brands.
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing performance-driven digital campaigns, including customer acquisition and engagement initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing and platform strategies, with the ability to connect paid media planning with creative strategy.
  • Experience reading and analyzing paid media reports, extracting actionable insights, and converting those into client-facing executive reports and internal creative briefs.
  • High client EQ, with the ability to anticipate client needs and deliver exceptional service.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience guiding clients through strategic narratives.
  • Experience with strategic planning around customer loyalty programs is a plus.
  • Comfortable managing teams and directly executing tasks when needed.
