About the Role:
We are looking for an Account Director with strong channel knowledge and planning experience to work across the Virgin Media O2 business. As an Account Director at Manning Gottlieb OMD, you will play a leading role in delivery great, award winning work and business success.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work on progressive, award-winning brands across all media channels. As part of a team within a large collective you will have the opportunity to access and learn from all aspects of the business; from the core disciplines, media planning and buying through to measurement, strategy, content and partnerships.
The successful candidate will be a true team player and will have a passion for learning and testing new ideas in a fast-paced environment. People and client management skills are also key for this role as the planning team is highly integrated with the client marketing team and creative agency.
The agency client team includes two Business Directors, three Account Directors (incl. this role) plus one Senior Exec and two Execs. The more junior roles will report directly on specific projects and need coordinating to deliver excellence in client service and planning so managerial experience is preferable.
About You:
The successful candidate will be passionate about media, data-led planning, continually testing & innovating and delivering great client service.
The candidate should have a good grounding in the media industry with experience in handling fast moving clients and the ability to juggle many projects and stakeholders. Therefore, organisational and analytical ability is key.
Specific skills:
- Project management
- Be able to influence clients through all verbal and written communication
- Use understanding of clients business to drive conversations with senior clients and media owners, as well as internal SBU’s (Specialist Business Units)
- Develop good working relationships with internal and external teams
- Proactively drive integration across all elements of the team
- Create and present powerful recommendations/ presentations
- Create benchmarks for the quality of work delivered by you and your team
- Ensure your team and your own deadlines are met and you manage expectations
- Identify any issues and resolve them demonstrating good problem solving skills
- Be approachable and supportive to team
- Be able to coach and nurture your team, deliver a positive appraisal experience, spot talent and develop all appropriately
- Encourage regular feedback within the team both positive and constructive
- Demonstrate effective delegation

For example, you could start work at 8:30 and finish at 16:30 or start at 10:30 and finish at 18:30.
