THE JOB / Account Director, Client Services (Home Improvement Client)

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

***Our headquarters is in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position is in Atlanta, GA.***

We are looking for an Account Director to lead all aspects of the overall strategy development, activation planning, and budget management for our client’s 10+ Atlanta partnerships. Including, but not limited to MLB, MLS, NFL, College Football, etc.

This role provides you with the opportunity and autonomy to lead and mentor a team of specialists across the Divisional portfolio for our Home Improvement client. As the head of this team, you run point related to the development of asset management, activation programming, and hospitality.

The ideal candidate is a team leader, strategic thinker, highly organized, and a self-starter. This position requires previous experience managing a team, excellent communication and time management skills, acute attention to detail, and client/partner management.

The Account Director will report into the Group Director with two direct reports and oversee a team of five.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Oversee and lead the strategy of partnership programs across the client’s divisional portfolio
  • Own and cultivate client relationships across the business
  • Collaborate with internal teams across creative, innovation, and digital strategy
  • Build presentations with the support of the day-to-day team
  • Work closely with other client verticals to ensure consistency in management and programming across the entire portfolio
  • Oversee the creative development process and ensure client creative delivers on the objective and follows brand guidelines
  • Assist the team with on-site hospitality needs as necessary
  • Manage and track the overall budgets and finances related to programming
  • Oversee documentation for projects including program overviews, recap summaries, agency POVs, budgets, and sell in presentations
  • Other related duties as reasonably assigned

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 7+ years of sponsorship/brand marketing experience
  • A passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music, and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
  • A respected leader and coach who inspires, motivates, mentors and strengthens a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral
  • Exceptional client service
  • Superior organizational skills, careful attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Know how to develop and own a budget and can discuss fiscal matters with ease to any audience: client, finance, your team
  • Collaborative in nature with a “no job is too small” attitude to assist with overall account team duties and additional programs as needed
  • Can put a presentation together, are effective at customizing your writing to your audience, and can deliver the presentation when you are in the room
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (in particular PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Ability and flexibility with weekend and some holiday work as needed, and travel as necessary
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Moderate (20-45%)

L5: The base range for this position is $70,000 – 90,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications
