Position Summary:

The Access Program Coordinator assists the Director of Adult Learning and Engagement (DALE) in the development, execution, and maintenance of accessibility programming including: Arts for All, Touch Tours, Autism Art Workshops, sensory friendly, adults with dementia.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Handle program logistics, including but not limited to engaging teaching artists, performers and vendors, setting schedules, managing workflow, and collaborating with facilities and AV as needed.
  • Support community outreach to develop audiences and potential community partners.
  • Co-lead and facilitate programs and workshops as needed.
  • Collaborate with Communications team for outreach/PR including website, email, and social media.
  • Manage registration and communication with attendees.  Due to the personal nature of the program, direct connection with families and attendees via phone and email is expected to familiarize them with the program.  
  • Manage registration and communications with attendees. Because of the program’s personal nature, expectation is that the Coordinator will connect directly with families and participants via phone and email to ensure they understand and feel comfortable with the program.
  • Collaborate with Docent and Volunteer Manager to schedule volunteers and docents.
  • Collect and organize attendance and program data to assess impact.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of meetings with DALE; occasionally participates in DALE’s meetings with COLCE
  • Engages in relevant training to keep current with trends.
  • Assist DALE to manage program budget ongoing.
  • Assist with all other adult programming as needed.

 Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse audiences of all ages, including individuals with disabilities and varying learning needs.
  • Desire to work with and support audiences with disabilities.
  • Minimum one year experience teaching art to children and adults.
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish and/or Creole, a plus.

Hours and Compensation: 

  • Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt
  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Location Requirements:

At the time of employment, employees are expected to be located within reasonable commuting distance of the museum. Commuting Distance means they are located in South Florida, and able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
