Position Overview
The Sales Pathway is designed to develop foundational selling skills, strengthen business and investment acumen, and learn how to build lasting relationships that help clients achieve their goals. Participants rotate across different sales organizations at Vanguard, gaining exposure to diverse client segments, understanding client needs, and learning how to deliver tailored solutions. Through hands-on experiences and meaningful contributions, participants in this pathway develop the skills, confidence, and relationships needed for a successful career in sales and business development.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a high-volume of inbound and outbound client or advisor interactions across channels, delivering timely, accurate insights while ensuring a high-quality client experience
Drive adoption of Vanguard products through consultative conversations and educating clients on Vanguard’s philosophy and offerings
Build and manage a pipeline of prospects and client relationships to support growth, retention, and ongoing engagement
Partner with internal sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders to align on key priorities, support client needs, and drive business outcomes
Support onboarding and operational processes, contributing to sales execution and continuous improvement through reporting, activity tracking, and identifying opportunities
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with exposure to financial services, client services, or related environments through coursework, internships, or self-directed learning
Demonstrated interest and aptitude for client-facing, sales-oriented work, with strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to delivering a high-quality client experience
Excellent communication skills across multiple channels, with comfort engaging through digital platforms
Intellectual curiosity alongside critical thinking, proactivity, and problem-solving skills
Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve results in a fast-paced setting
Adaptable, intellectually curious, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
Willingness and ability to obtain required regulatory licenses (FINRA Series 7 and 66) within program guidelines
Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be passed 14 days prior to starting date

The Accelerated Career Development Program (ACDP) is a two-year immersive development program that provides skill advancement, mentorship, real-world experience, and targeted training to accelerate participants into project management, sales, or product career pathways. These pathways have been intentionally and thoughtfully curated to align with Vanguard’s evolving business needs—ensuring we are building the capabilities required for today while preparing crew and leaders for what’s next. Each participant will rotate through different divisions, take on key assignments, support long-term strategic initiatives, and help shape the experience of our fifty million investors worldwide!
