Major Responsibilities: The Academic Programs Coordinator for the Business Division oversees the operational, academic, and administrative functions of all Business and Information Technology programs at Florida National University. The role ensures program quality, regulatory compliance, student success, and effective collaboration among faculty, staff, and external partners. The coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for program related matters and supports continuous improvement across all academic offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communication Management: Respond promptly to daily communications via email and voicemail, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Policy Adherence and Ethical Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the University's mission, policies, procedures, ethical standards, compliance with data protection regulations and pertinent legal regulations in all aspects of admission activities.
- University Engagement: Participate in Commencement Exercises, new student orientation, university events, committees, self-studies, and University Commencement Ceremonies.
- Special Projects: Execute special projects assigned by the President or supervisor.
- Compliance Adherence: Ensure compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, as well as FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules and Regulation, the FNU Code of Ethics, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (FIPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
- Assigned Duties: Undertake other assigned duties as required.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Administration
- Coordinate daily operations of Business and IT programs, including scheduling, room assignments, and academic calendars.
- Maintain accurate program records, reports, and documentation in compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
- Support budget monitoring, purchasing, and resource allocation for program needs.
Student Support & Engagement
- Provide guidance to students on academic requirements, course planning, and program expectations.
- Support retention initiatives, student workshops, orientations, and career development activities.
- Maintain communication with students through email, meetings, and digital platforms.
Faculty & Departmental Support
- Serve as liaison between faculty, administration, and students on program matters.
- Coordinate faculty meetings, training sessions, and program committees.
- Assist with adjunct onboarding and academic resource distribution.
Data, Reporting & Assessment
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to enrollment, retention, student performance, and program outcomes.
- Support program reviews, accreditation reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Marketing, Outreach & Recruitment
- Collaborate with admissions and marketing to promote Business and IT programs.
- Participate in recruitment events, community outreach, and employer engagement.
- Maintain program information on the FNU website and promotional materials.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure alignment with accreditation standards, state regulations, and institutional policies.
- Support audit preparation and documentation for internal and external reviews.
Education / Experience Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business, Information Technology, Education, or related field.
- Two or more years of experience in academic administration, program coordination, or related roles.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and academic management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate / master’s degree in business, IT, Higher Education, or related discipline.
- Experience in accreditation processes.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), reflecting FNU’s student population.
