Business Development and Fundraising
We are looking for a motivated self-starter in Business Development and Fundraising with an impressive track record in business development and/or abilities in attracting and securing investment and managing investor relations, to help us drive AAVAA’s ground-breaking technology into several “wearables” markets and sectors. The position is available as early as December 2024.
AAVAA is a deep technology start-up in Montreal with the goal to give people control of their auditory environment, enhance the sounds they want to hear, and suppress distracting noise. We have developed a unique, patented wearable technology that promises to revolutionize human-assistive devices and human-machine interactivity by interpreting brain and bio-signals. Our technology is designed to be easily integrated into earphones, earbuds, eyeglasses, and other wearable form factors, and our business model is to license our technology to OEM’s and app developers in these sectors.

Position Requirements:
- Location: On-site in Montreal or remote in Canada or the USA.
- Ability to travel to customer sites 2-4 days per month.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ successful work experience in tech business development, and fundraising.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong consultative sales, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising activities, including identifying potential investors, and successfully securing financial support.
- Experience with technology licensing and integrating third-party technology into OEM and app development product cycles in one or more of our target sectors:
- Personal Audio (e.g., headphones, earbuds, hearing enhancement devices and hearing aids)
- Protective Audio (e.g. noise canceling and commercial hearing protection devices)
- Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (including gaming, simulation and training, human-machine, and Internet of Things devices such as Alexa)
- Human-Assistive Health Care (e.g. health monitoring wearables and mobility devices)
- Success in identifying candidate OEM’s, establishing interest, generating engagement, and ultimately securing technology integration agreements.
- Proficient in crafting compelling and articulate Letters of Intent to effectively communicate business objectives and intentions.
- Proven ability to build and nurture a strong professional network within the AR/VR, wearables, and health industry.
