Position based in: Head Office, Karachi
Job Summary:
- Responsible to facilitate branches and business units uplift the audit/inspection ratings under directions from the Unit Head Internal Controls.
- Analyze and suggest improvements in the risk management related controls and help implement the overall risk strategy at UBL Ameen.
- Be the first line to facilitate audit management of branches and HO functions with a view of preparation of contestations and help improve ratings.
- Look after the reconciliation matters and act as first contact for branches/regions/clusters/any other division of UBL Ameen for facilitation on operational matters and help resolve issues.
Job Requirements:
- Assist Unit Head Internal Controls on all assignments
- Be the first contact point for branches and business units for Operations and audit advice under supervision of the Unit Head Internal Controls.
- Facilitate branches/business units during their ICD reviews and audits.
- Support in the reviews and audits of the weak branches identified by the HO and help the staff in contestation.
- Advise branches on preparation of draft contestation arguments for each audit observation and annexure, gather evidences for each observation in close co-ordination with the branches and regional management and present the final draft to the Unit Head Internal Controls.
- Keep a close co-ordination with the ICD, ISAU, Internal Audit and External Audit teams at all times
- Help improvement of results in branch audits and ensure minimization of observations and annexures wherever possible under supervision and directions of Unit Head Internal Controls.
- Support branch to help maintain their compliance levels at all times.
- Check for the level of implementation of policies, procedures and SOPs at branches through random check calls, accompanying Unit Head on branch visits and retrieval of data through branches and system.
Experience & Qualification
- Inclination to work in Islamic Banking is a must.
- At least BBA/BSc.Econ/Fin Accounting or ACCA with Bachelors degree. MBA/MSc.Econ/Fin/Accounting from a reputable institution would be preferred (An additional qualification in Project Management would be a plus)
- Minimum of 2 years of Banking experience. Outstanding Fresh candidates could also be considered.
- Must have strong analytical skills and ability to decipher complex information and transactions.
- Experience in Branch Banking Operations/Internal Controls/audit/Trade Operations is required. Whereas, experience in developing controls, process re-engineering, drafting policies, branch inspections, conducting surprise checks, audit management at branches/Head office, preparing contestations for audit observations for internal and external auditors would be a plus.
Skills Required

- Goal oriented and results driven.
- Strong MS Excel and hands on experience of Power Point and Project Management software is required.
- Power BI and hands on experience of SQL and data analytics/data extraction/management dashboards will come handy and candidates with these skills, in addition to the above educational and work experience criteria will be preferred.
