Job summary:
As Trading Lead - Vice President within the CMAS Trading and Portfolio Management team, you will be responsible for managing the Trading Team, while leading the enhancement of pre-trade analysis of investment decisions across impacted accounts, pre-trade coordination with internal and external teams, and post trade implementation and execution processes to optimize client outcomes. This role combines operational understanding, and analytics with market dynamics and trading practices. You will act as a liaison between assets managers, traders, operations, and clients.
Job responsibilities:
Manage the Trading Team by leading and participating in the daily trading processes
Conduct scenario analysis, assess trade sizing and timing, market conditions, liquidity to optimize outcomes
Enhance framework to translate asset manager instructions into proposed, ensuring alignment with client guidelines, regulatory requirements, and asset manager intent
Partner with trading teams to assess block allocations, step-outs, and rotations
Monitor transaction costs, slippage, and market impact; assess strategies for enhancement where possible
Work closely with portfolio managers, client service, operations, and compliance teams to ensure seamless trade workflows
Develop process enhancements, technology solutions, and oversight frameworks that increase scalability and controls
Provide oversight reporting on trading activity, best execution, and trade implementation risks to senior management and clients
Required skills, qualifications and capabilities:
7+ years of experience in trading or portfolio implementation ideally with an asset manager
Management experience
Strong understanding of equity, fixed income, and/or derivative market structures and liquidity dynamics
Ability to apply judgment in real-time trading scenarios
Proven track record of partnering with asset managers and traders on execution strategy
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex circumstances to both internal stakeholders and external clients
Proficiency in trading systems, OMS/EMS platforms, and advanced Excel; familiarity with transaction cost analysis (TCA)
