URBN is looking for a 3D Technical Designer to provide technical expertise in product fit and construction across the product lifecycle, utilizing 3D software to enable faster digital decision-making.
Role Responsibilities
- Publish style setups from Designers to relay needed information to factories for sample execution. Advise construction details and measurement specifications.
- Create patterns in clo 3D with realistic construction, trims, and fabric.
- Support Tech department for clo 3D training and high level execution of 3D style development
- Review Clo 3D files to ensure vendor has met designs intent for Fit & Construction:
- Tech Pack Management: Review, maintain, and update tech packs, specification sheets
- Communicate fit corrections and construction details to internal teams and vendors.
- Conduct live fit sessions in clo3D, documenting fit notes, measuring samples, and issuing precise revisions.
- Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with production and sourcing teams to ensure style details meet target margins and vendor capabilities without sacrificing design intent.
- High attention to detail, strong aesthetic eye matching the brand identity, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Associate or BS Degree in Fashion Design, Patternmaking, Apparel Technology, or Related Industry.
- Experience: 5+ years of fashion industry or related field experience with strong knowledge of garment construction, stitching standards, flat patterning, and draping a plus.
Required Skills:
- 3D CAD Software: Proficiency required (CLO 3D strongly preferred).
- Design & Systems Platforms: Experience with PLM systems, Adobe Photoshop, and generative AI platforms.
Preferred / Plus to Have Skills:
- Digital Workflow Tools: Familiarity with Frontier, Vibe IQ, or Figma.
- Additional 3D & DPC Software: Rhino, KeyShot, SolidWorks, or Blender.
- Advanced Tech: Experience with 3D and 4D scanning technologies.
