Essential Job Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of settlements analysts.
- Oversee workload distribution, performance management, and process improvement initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact between Accounting and Marketing teams.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and communication to resolve issues efficiently.
Daily Responsibilities
- Perform and review payment reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of cash receipts.
- Lead exception management, including discrepancies related to contracts, pricing, and volumes.
- Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Revenue Accounting, Operations, Division Order) to resolve issues.
- Monitor settlement activity to ensure adherence to contractual terms and internal controls.
Monthly Responsibilities
- Oversee AFS (Available for Sale) calculation and distribution processes to Marketing.
- Manage invoice review, validation, and processing and counterparty sign-off.
- Track and monitor producer imbalances, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting.
- Support monthly close activities, including accruals and variance analysis related to settlements.
Key Additional Responsibilities
- Validate measurement data, including production volumes and pricing inputs.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of Non-Operated (Non-Op) and Third-Party volume flow.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to lost or misstated revenue.
- Partner with Marketing and Operations to improve data integrity and process transparency.
- Implement and enhance controls to prevent financial leakage across the settlements lifecycle.
- Develop producer imbalance make-up program in conjunction with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of six (6) years of relevant oil and gas accounting experience, with a focus on settlements, revenue, or marketing accounting
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
- Strong understanding of:
- Oil & gas marketing contracts and settlement processes
- Production accounting and midstream allocation concepts
- Revenue recognition and financial controls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage complex datasets involving volumes, pricing, and contractual terms
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and commercial teams
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement controls
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (experience with energy-specific systems preferred)
Education Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
- Preferred Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
