The Role
Job Objective:
Manages, coordinates and executes Safety, Compliance, Environmental, Health and other training programs/projects for Hilcorp Alaska, to promote and ensure training and regulatory compliance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

DEEP Learning Management System and Training Matrix

  • Serve as the DEEP-LMS subject matter expert (SME) for Hilcorp Alaska.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the Hilcorp AK (HAK) Training Matrix content by collaborating with Operations and functional support groups such as safety, environmental, process safety, etc. to understand regulatory requirements and drive training compliance.
  • Ensure employee training is assigned in DEEP-LMS per the HAK Training Matrix
  • Ensure individual training completions are credited in DEEP
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding training assignments and DEEP functionality
  • Generate training reports for end-users upon request

Instructor Lead Training (ILT)

  • Develop an annual plan for HAK ILT to address training assignment needs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at each geography on timing and logistics to ensure successful delivery
  • Coordinate all aspects of ILT field efforts, including but not limited to:
    • Securing training providers and their logistics
    • DEEP course enrollment and credit
    • Field Communication
    • Tracking and progress reporting

Customer Engagement and Project Management

  • Proactively engage with field operations to understand and identify emerging training support needs
  • Manage identified training projects from scoping through implementation
  • Manage invoices from training vendors to ensure timely coding and processing

Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate current processes and tools for efficiencies and improvement opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and eliminate redundancy.
  • Bring improvement ideas and solutions to management for collaboration and review
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPI) and performance metrics to measure success of  fundamental training functions.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
  • Ability to travel (10%) to other corporate or remote field locations via large and small planes, helicopter or boat, and ability to don and doff immersion suit.
  • Ability to work in Arctic winter conditions and be outfitted in Fire Retardant Clothing, if necessary for the work location(s)
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in professional training management, LMS management/administration or comparable system/data management position.
  • Ability to think and problem solve independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities without close supervision while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong and effective organization, communication, administrative, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to adhere to a standard and predictable work schedule.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the computer software:
    • Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner)
    • Virtual training sessions via Microsoft Teams
    • Prior experience working in a recordkeeping database and reporting
    • Prior experience working with LMS and other training technologies
  • PowerBI experience desirable

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in business administration, project management, training or a closely related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
