What is the opportunity?

As a Reporting Analyst co-op student, you'd support RBC's business teams by turning raw data into actionable insights through reports and dashboards.

What will you do?

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Contributing to defined projects or tasks under direct supervision.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract data from enterprise systems
  • Develop Python scripts to extract, transform, and build reports
  • Document all code, processes, and query logic or upgrading existing procedure manuals.
  • Assist various business teams with ad-hoc reports and data requests

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Currently enrolled in Undergraduate degree with focus on Mathematics, Statistics, IT, or Computer Science 
  • Programming skills in SQL, Python, R and/or SAS and/or other data analysis tools
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data
  • Familiarity with data visualization software such as SAS VIYA, Tableau, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)  
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-have  

  • Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge
  • Debugging data issues, optimizing thinking
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of January 2027, and end date of April 2027. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2027 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
