  • Be assigned to a team where you will contribute to live projects and gain meaningful hands-on experience

  • Shadow experienced professionals and learn directly from leaders in the field

  • Have opportunities to network with colleagues and other interns, helping you build connections for your future career

This internship provides practical experience, skill development, and a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing a career in the asset and wealth management industry.

Why Finance:

Finance at Schroders is about much more than numbers. It gives you a unique view of how a global asset manager operates – from financial control and regulatory reporting, to partnering with senior leaders to drive strategic, commercial decision making. As a Finance intern, you’ll work with teams that help the business make informed decisions, manage risk, and deliver sustainable growth.

This internship is best suited to candidates who are genuinely interested in building a career in Finance. While you’ll gain exposure to the wider asset management industry, the role is not an investment management or client-facing internship.

Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for proactive, curious and motivated interns who are excited by the opportunity to understand how Finance supports a global investment management business. You’ll enjoy working with numbers, asking thoughtful questions, building relationships across teams and communicating your ideas clearly. We value people who take ownership, are willing to get stuck in, and bring enthusiasm and energy to new challenges.

Required skills and capabilities:

  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with numerical information

  • Broader business awareness and a basic understanding of how the asset management industry operates

  • Curiosity about how businesses operate and how Finance supports decision-making

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Proactive approach, with a willingness to take ownership and follow through

  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with different teams

  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

  • Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with willingness to develop technical and AI skills further

  • Interested in developing a long-term career in Finance

The team:

Our Finance function is central to delivering the firm’s strategic objectives and driving sustainable, profitable growth. The team provides vital financial insights, supports well-informed decision-making, and ensures strong financial and regulatory control.

The Finance department’s core focus areas are:

  • Supporting sound commercial decisions through insightful analysis and business partnering

  • Enabling effective business operations with efficient finance processes

  • Safeguarding the organisation with robust financial and regulatory controls

Our activities span three key pillars: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Operations, and Control, delivered through finance hubs in the UK, Luxembourg, and Singapore, as well as local teams in other regions.

What you’ll get involved in:

During the internship, you may support work across financial planning and analysis, finance operations, regulatory reporting, control activities and business partnering. This could include analysing financial information, preparing presentations, supporting reporting processes, improving ways of working, and collaborating with colleagues across Finance and the wider business.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications we’re looking for:

  • When the internship commences, you will have completed your second year of studies and will be on track to graduate with a degree (or equivalent) in 2028

  • Maths A-level or equivalent is preferable (a STEM degree if you do not hold a Maths A-level or equivalent) but not essential

  • Please note that we do not accept applications from students in their final year who intend to undertake further study (e.g. a Master's degree) before entering employment.

  • A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

If you are commercially aware, analytical, and ready to thrive in a dynamic environment, we look forward to hearing from you.

Benefits of joining us:

When you join our internship programme at Schroders, you will benefit from a wide range of professional and personal development opportunities, including:

  • Comprehensive training:

Access immersive training sessions focused on building industry knowledge, technical expertise, and essential soft skills to help you adapt quickly and make a meaningful impact

  • Senior networking opportunities:

Attend “Coffee Hours” led by senior leaders, providing opportunities to connect and grow your professional network

  • Buddy system:

Be paired with a dedicated graduate buddy who will guide and support your integration into the team and wider business

  • Potential for future opportunities:

Successful interns may have the opportunity to secure a place on our 2028 Accounting & Finance Graduate Programme, subject to performance. The programme provides an excellent foundation for aspiring accountants looking to gain a professional qualification and build a long-term career in Finance.

  • End-of-programme event:

Celebrate your achievements alongside other interns, placement year students and line managers at a dedicated event at Schroders HQ

  • On-site facilities:

Enjoy the convenience of an on-site staff restaurant and complimentary use of our on-site gym

Use of a private GP service

By joining us, you will be part of an inclusive environment where your learning, wellbeing, and professional growth are a priority.

Recruitment process:

  • Online application form

  • Stage 1 Cognitive Online Assessment

  • Stage 2 Behavioural and Motivational Assessment

  • Stage 3 Work Simulation and Video Interview

  • Assessment centre
