About Us
Schroders is a global investment manager which provides active asset management, wealth management and investment solutions. We aim to provide excellent investment performance to clients through active management. We serve a diverse client base that includes pension schemes, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, high net worth individuals, family offices, as well as end clients through partnerships with distributors, financial advisers, and online platforms.
Established in 1804, we have around 5,500 people across 36 global locations. Schroders' success can be attributed to its diversified business model, spanning different asset classes, client types and geographies.
Why Finance:
Finance at Schroders is about much more than numbers. It gives you a unique view of how a global asset manager operates – from financial control and regulatory reporting, to partnering with senior leaders to drive strategic, commercial decision making. As a Finance graduate, you’ll work with teams that help the business make informed decisions, manage risk, and deliver sustainable growth.
This graduate programme is best suited to candidates who are genuinely interested in building a career in Finance. While you’ll gain exposure to the wider asset management industry, the role is not an investment management or client-facing programme.
Programme overview:
The Schroders Graduate programme is two years long. However, we provide an additional third year of rotations in Finance to support your professional qualification journey and give you broader, practical experience across the function. The programme is designed to help you develop the technical skills, business understanding and professional judgement needed to build a long-term career in Finance.
During the Graduate programme, you may support work across financial planning and analysis, finance operations, regulatory reporting, control activities and business partnering. This could include analysing financial information, preparing presentations, supporting reporting processes, improving ways of working, and collaborating with colleagues across Finance and the wider business.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for proactive, curious and motivated graduates who are excited by the opportunity to understand how Finance supports a global investment management business. You’ll enjoy working with numbers, asking thoughtful questions, building relationships across teams and communicating your ideas clearly. We value people who take ownership, are willing to get stuck in and challenge the status quo and bring enthusiasm and energy to new challenges.
Our Finance Graduate programme is the perfect start for a graduate looking to become a qualified accountant and build their long-term career in Finance.
Required skills and capabilities:
Strong analytical skills and confidence working with numerical information
Broader business awareness and a basic understanding of how the asset management industry operates
Curiosity about how businesses operate and how Finance supports decision-making
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Proactive approach, with a willingness to take ownership and follow through
Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with different teams
Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with willingness to develop technical and AI skills further
Interested in developing a long-term career in Finance and completing either the ACCA or CIMA qualification
The team:
Our Finance function is central to delivering the firm’s strategic objectives and driving sustainable, profitable growth. The team provides vital financial insights, supports well-informed decision-making, and ensures strong financial and regulatory control.
The Finance department’s core focus areas are:
Supporting sound commercial decisions through insightful analysis and business partnering
Enabling effective business operations with efficient finance processes
Safeguarding the organisation with robust financial and regulatory controls
Our activities span three key pillars: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Operations, and Control, delivered through finance hubs in the UK, Luxembourg, and Singapore, as well as local teams in other regions.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications we’re looking for:
You should be due to graduate in 2027, or have recently graduated, and be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, an honours degree (or equivalent). We welcome applications from all degree subjects.
Maths A-level or equivalent is preferable (a STEM degree if you do not hold a Maths A-level or equivalent) but not essential
A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
If you are commercially aware, analytical, and ready to thrive in a dynamic environment, we look forward to hearing from you.
Benefits of joining us:
When you join our graduate programme at Schroders, you will benefit from a wide range of professional and personal development opportunities, including:
Professional qualifications:
Achieve the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) in your first few weeks - the UK’s benchmark entry qualification for investment professionals
Finance Graduates are expected to take study for either the ACCA or CIMA qualification after the IMC, with the expectation that exams are completed within three years. Support will be provided through study leave and a key point of contact for the three years.
