Program Overview
The Quality Engineering Trainee Program is a training program for up to 24 months in the Toyota Motor North America Quality division. The program consists of up to four 6-month rotations, allowing Trainees to build a stronger understanding of the technical aspects of Toyota products, processes and current dealer practices. Assignments are project based with opportunities to work directly with Engineers in developing and improving processes.
What you’ll be doing
Departmental rotations include various groups within Toyota Motor North America Quality, such as the following:
Customer Quality Services (4 groups include: Body, Chassis, Electrical, and Powertrain) -
Reports and tracks vehicle technical issues from the first reports of a potential concern, until the issue has been researched and if necessary, resolved with a field fix or production change.
Service Technology - Develops new technician diagnostic systems and tools/ equipment to give dealership technicians access to repair solutions, technical bulletins, and other technical information.
Material Quality
Develop and utilize technical expertise for Metal/ Electrical/ Chemical materials & processes, to prevent and quickly resolve quality concerns.
New Model Quality Assurance
Track quality issues and coordinate the evaluation of vehicles during the pre-production stage to ensure that vehicles have good quality prior to the start of production.

Toyota Motor North America Headquarters in Plano, TX.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology or related degree discipline or equivalent work experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Dealership/Automotive Industry experience is preferred, but not required
