2026 Insurance, Fall Business and Data Analyst (4-16 months)

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking fall co-ops across several Business and Data Analyst roles (including but not limited to the following: Product Management, Operational Risk, Supplier Governance, Data Analytics, Digital Application Specialist, AI Engineering Co-op, etc.) You will provide an appropriate level of support for all types of change initiatives/projects, ensuring business impacts are assessed and projects are being implemented efficiently and effectively with business solutions that meet client and stakeholder needs. The ideal candidate will apply business and data experience and complete working knowledge of the job and policies/practices to perform a combination of routine tasks and varied administrative/operational assignments.

What will you do?

• Work within a dynamic environment where you are encouraged to aid in process improvement and work with autonomy.
• Work closely with MLOps, DevOps, and QA teams to streamline processes and demo solutions to stakeholders.
• Develop and Review processes and procedures
• Support and assist with new and renewal licensing applications
• Create and maintain all client and licensing records in applicable systems
• Collaborate and support the Channel Design and Initiative Delivery team on projects impacting the group distribution channel
• Review and clean up data within salesforce platform to improve platform efficiency 
• Performing data classification review and updates for Insurance's applications/systems
• Gain hands-on exposure to the processes involved in transitioning products from development to production, including release planning, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and post-production validation.
• Design and implement data-driven solutions to support the CIO office's strategic initiatives.
• Ensuring alignment with the Enterprise data classification as outlined in the Enterprise Data Security Standards
• You will actively participate in the development and/or monitoring of controls to support compliance requirements and risks identified
• Developing product or service knowledge and competence in tools and business processes used in the department.
• Participate in collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business user needs
• Collaborate with internal teams, including IT, operations, and product development, to ensure timely resolution of issues and continuous improvement of applications.
• Assist in crafting and optimizing scalable data pipelines to support AI workflows, ensuring data quality and efficiency

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering
• Knowledge in Building, Documenting and Assessing Processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint & Excel)
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
• Strong Teamwork and Collaboration Skills
• Analytical Thinking and strong data literacy
• Ability to think critically and “outside the box”
• Basic understanding of ML concepts (model lifecycle, training/inference) and hands-on experience with Python.

Nice to have

• Experience with End User Reporting Tools (ex. Tableau) and with CRM Tools (ex. Salesforce)
• Experience using issue-tracking and ticketing tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.
• Actuarial Knowledge and Insurance industry knowledge
• Knowledge of factors affecting Claims and Insurance Policies
• Experience with regulatory data standards
• Coursework or projects in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) or monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).
• Familiar with investment asset management tools, such as Bloomberg.
• Familiar with SQL and Power BI

• Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or 

• If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
