Your Responsibilities
As a Senior PTC Windchill Engineer for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will:
- Collaborate with other software engineers and analysts to enable platform quality, security, and reliability through the implementation of DevOps;
- Work as an active member of an Agile delivery team; participate in discussions with the product team, Engineering Manager and extended EPDM (Enterprise Product Data Management) product team to identify innovative solutions to satisfy stakeholder requirements;
- Provide technical leadership on application development-related tasks, activities, and initiative;
- Participate in a DevOps culture including supporting CI/CD, the development and maintenance of a robust and reliable build pipeline and appropriate automated testing for product team functionality;
- Lead migration projects like the PTC Windchill platform to the cloud and leverage the new capabilities there to improve quality and performance while minimizing cost;
- Assume ownership of all the product functionality from concept to production support including identification and resolution of tech debt;
- Timely response to production workloads, demands and issues during urgent situations for mission-critical applications;
- Lead technical initiatives like event driven architecture, data analytics, etc.;
- Mentor junior software engineers including pairing and code reviews;
- Assist with root cause analysis, debug and resolutions of complex functional issues and lead preventative recurrence initiatives;
- Identify product related risks and address them before they impact global end-users.
- Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. Up to 20% remote work allowed.
What Skills You Need
- 4 years of experience in windchill Customization and Configuration including Product Lifecycle Management and Service Lifecycle Management
- 4 years of experience in support PTC Platform through Upgrade, Rehost, Replication and configuring vaults
- 3 years of experience in requirement gathering which includes Project kick off and Data/Upgrade migration workshop
- 2 years of experience in windchill integration with SAP and Oracle
- 5 years of experience working on all the modules in Windchill including Document and Part management, Change Management or CAD data
- 1 year of experience using DevOps and Agile tools supporting CI/CD
- 2 years of experience working with the scripting language
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Application, Computer Science or related field plus 5 years related experience.
