Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer, Product - Systems, Prod Verification, Vehicle Architecture (CA) for John Deere in Cedar Falls, IA, you will:
- Produce and evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance, compile and furnish the necessary information to document design solutions required for the building of prototypes and the adoption of designs with possible involvement of other functional engineers
- Deliver engineering solutions working with cross functional groups while providing technical support
- Act as an expert user of critical technology
- Develop new applications of technology for product development
- Lead the resolution of product-line based difficult technical issues whether within the company or with outside suppliers
- 10% international travel required. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. 5% remote work allowed.
What Skills You Need
- 3 years of experience with electrical systems for complex off-road vehicle system design, utilizing communication protocols for CAN, LIN and Ethernet
- 3 years of experience in Product Engineering experience in the design, development or testing of off-road equipment through the electrical systems product development process. Experience must include working with and communicating with cross functional teams (Both inside engineering and outside.)
- 3 years of experience doing system engineering through the design, manufacturing and product support phases including: understanding how the electrical system interfaced to all functional areas; how it is incorporated in the life cycle of the product; ability to articulate and show the value of design considerations and the impact overall to the vehicle system and long term affects to the enterprise
- 2 years of experience with the Agile development process through a commercially available toolset like Rally or equivalent tool
- 3 years of exposure to concept design and definition; assessing needs to incorporate new electrical functions and technologies; and troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues in both hardware and software
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 5 years related experience.
