The Role

Department Summary

Prescient Design’s Engineering team is seeking an undergraduate intern with experience in software engineering, a passion for simplification, and an interest in biomedical problems.

The Engineering team at Prescient Design is dedicated to accelerating, streamlining, and contributing to the company’s objectives. We manage Prescient’s lab-in-the-loop software, enable ML scientists to rapidly deploy novel models, facilitate data ingestion, and develop scientific code to advance the boundaries of drug discovery. Our fast-paced yet methodical engineering approach allows us to fully support Prescient Design in all its needs. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic coder to work on our lab-in-the-loop platform, assisting in delivering a fast, reliable, and accurate application where users can initiate exploratory and production-level drug discovery campaigns.

This internship position is located in New York, NY,  on-site.

The Opportunity

  • Contribute to the entire stack of the lab-in-the-loop platform.

  • Enhance model/data validation accuracy between lab-in-the-loop ML components.

  • Engage with users and stakeholders to gather feedback on their experience with the lab-in-the-loop platform.

  • Learn and uphold our testing strategy for all developed code.

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-week, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Required Education:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

Required Majors: 

  • Computer Science

Required Skills: 

  • Proficiency in Python, with the ability to write, optimize, debug, and test production-ready code.

  • Curiosity about the biology of disease and eagerness to contribute to scientific and computational efforts.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of  New York City is $40-$45 hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
