2025 Summer Intern - Prescient Design
Department Summary
At Prescient Design, we develop cutting edge machine learning methods to tackle the hardest drug design problems. We are seeking exceptional graduate interns with a strong research background in machine learning (ML), a passion for independent research and technical problem-solving, and a proven ability to develop and implement ideas from research.
This internship position is located in San Francisco, on-site.
The Opportunity

Develop methods that combine physics based approaches and knowledge with machine learning to characterize molecules

Explore denoising models for representations with symmetries
Program Highlights

Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

Program start dates are in May/June 2025.

A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are (Required)
Required Education:
-
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
Required Major: Computer Science, Physics, Biophysics, Mathematics are preferred. Chemistry may also apply if theoretical or computational.
Required Skills:

Comfortable with pytorch.

Basic understanding of machine learning is required.

Writing deployable code is necessary.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

Experience with machine learning is highly desirable, preferably someone who has deep theoretical understanding or has demonstrated the ability to develop and code their own algorithms.

Some experience with biomolecular systems is preferred but not strictly necessary.

Experience with equivariance is desirable but not required.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $50.00 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
