2025 Summer Intern - Biochemical Cellular Pharmacology
Department Summary
Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology (BCP) group develops relevant quantitative biochemical and cellular assays and experiments to support drug discovery efforts at Genentech. The department employs a wide spectrum of Scientists at various levels and is recognized globally for its important contribution to drug discovery in diverse therapeutic areas.
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site.
The Opportunity

Learn and conduct in vitro functional experiments to contribute to scientific/drug discovery.

Hands on experience working with primary fibroblast, monocytes and T cells.

Hands on experience using multicolor flow cytometry and cell population analysis.
Program Highlights

Intensive 12-weeks , full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

Program start dates are in May/June 2025.

A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Who You Are (Required)
Required Education
-
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
Required majors: Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry.
Required skills:
-
Primary cell isolation from PBMC and cell culture.

Multi-color flow cytometry including compensation, cell population analysis.

Proficient data analysis in Excel, prism, flowjo.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

In vitro cell based functional assays preferred.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $45.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
