VelocityEHS has embraced a remote-first culture to best fit our employees needs. The global company still feels tight-knit, staying connected through affinity groups, guest speakers, virtual events and a continuous chatter over MS Teams. Managers assess performance by outcomes, not hours worked. Employees are encouraged to find a schedule that optimizes their productivity, and prioritize work-life balance with healthy boundaries.

PURPOSE AND POTENTIAL
Encouraging development is a high priority
Winnie Ip started at VelocityEHS as an intern. Now, she is an executive and describes herself as a servant leader. She focuses on empowering people to tackle daily challenges and strive to be their best. She also applies this attitude of service in her community, and loves to take advantage of volunteer days. “I truly believe that helping others is my main purpose and nothing gives me greater joy than to see people I have mentored or managed rise up and grow to their full potential,” she said. The team is always giving recognition to top performers, and having a good time while they’re at it.
Winnie Ip
COO
I believe in empowering people to do great things. I focus most of my time on developing people and teams and in doing so, I help them solve their own problems and anticipate issues that may arise.
REMOTE WORK EVERYWHERE
Uniting a global team
Aercio De Melo
Director of Software Development, Risk
It can be tough to coordinate work across 33 global locations, but Aercio De Melo credits the company with conscientious accommodations for a global team. As an Australian-based team member, he often relies on asynchronous communication to connect with his team during the hours that he is active. Aercio didn’t struggle much with the transition to fully remote work. “Some challenges are part of the deal, including isolation and occasional communication issues. But we are continually working to resolve those issues and overall the performance of the team is greater,” he said.
Remote work gives everyone better control over their environment, more flexibility culminating with a better well-being and work-life balance.
