Skirball Cultural Center Benefits Overview

Manage temporary and traveling museum exhibitions from planning through installation. Responsibilities include coordinating curators, registrars, designers, fabricators, partner institutions, and internal departments; negotiating contracts; tracking budgets, schedules, and deliverables; managing traveling exhibition marketing and logistics; creating installation manuals; and couriering objects to ensure proper care and handling. Some travel is required.

Supports employees and managers across recruiting, hiring, benefits administration, employee relations, leaves, terminations, workers’ compensation, and California employment compliance. Maintains employee relationships, responds to HR inquiries, facilitates new-hire orientation and training, and assists with employee events. Requires strong organization, communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills.

Undergraduate fellows will advise on the development of a new Skirball Cultural Center exhibition, contributing to content, design, terminology, interactive components, and educational elements. Fellows will participate in professional development workshops, lead peer feedback sessions, and co-facilitate focus groups. The two-year fellowship involves approximately eight virtual meetings per academic year, with occasional in-person meetings in Los Angeles. Fellows receive a $1,000 annual stipend and museum membership.
