401(K)

After 6 consecutive months of service, qualified employees are encouraged to participate in the PHYTEC 401(k) plan through Vanguard. This 401(k) plan has Pre-Tax deferrals and Roth deferrals.

401(K) matching

For qualified employees, PHYTEC will make an ADP safe harbor Matching Contribution of 100% of Deferrals up to 4% of compensation. Vesting is immediate at 100%.

Performance bonus

When PHYTEC is successful, employees are successful. After probationary periods are completed, discretionary bonuses are typically given in the middle of the year and at the end of the year.

Employees are provided with Orca passes as relevant for bus, ferry, and light rail coverage.

Company-sponsored outings

PHYTEC plans several team-building and group outings many times per year. Some examples of outings in the past are skiing, hiking, bowling, kayaking, challenge courses, booze cruise, and museums.

Fitness stipend

Keeping healthy is important when you work at a desk most of the day. PHYTEC encourages the health and well-being of employees and provides a $75 fitness allowance each month.

PHYTEC provides an expresso machine on each floor, the healthy snacks are kept in supply, and we also have a lot of employees who like to bake. Lots of yummy treats!

We often supply meals during meetings, and we enjoy a BBQ during good weather out on our patio overlooking the harbor. Every employee gets the meal of their choice for their birthday.

Disability insurance

All active, full-time employees working at least 30 hours a week receive long-term disability insurance benefit, which covers 60% of employee's earning up to a maximum of $10,000.

Health insurance

PHYTEC pays 100% of health insurance premiums for all employees working 30 hours or more per week. For employees working at least 40 hours per week, we also pay 100% for dependent premiums. Nice!

During the pandemic, our employees helped create and supply needed face shields for first responders. We used our 3D printers to help create the donated product.

Our hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, however, with supervisor approval, work hours are flexible.

Many of our employees work from our office on Bainbridge Island, but those who live in Seattle can often work from home. Working from home depends on the position.
