Huntress Cybersecurity for the 99 percent

Huntress was founded on a simple premise: to force hackers to earn every single inch of their access. The company has been fully remote since 2015, and provides small to mid-market businesses with a broad set of versatile security solutions, fortifying the defenses of mom-and-pop shops that lack the resources to protect themselves. “It all comes back to helping out the little guy,” Technical Product Owner Sharon Martin said. “At the end of the day, it really feels good to know we’re making a measurable difference in peoples’ lives by helping ensure their systems are secure.” Added Director of R&D Jamie Levy: “We all have this ‘root for the underdog’ mentality. Everyone sticks together here at Huntress.”

Inside Our Work

Welcome to the team

“When I started my own business, I never wanted to work for someone else ever again — and yet here I am at Huntress,” said Senior Threat Research and Cyber SME Greg Ake. The decision to let his EDR company, Level Effect, get acquired in 2020 came down to a sense of trust, he said. “The transparency, mission and proven track record of the company alleviated any concern of relinquishing the project,” Ake continued. ”Knowing what Huntress is trying to do, what we are capable of and who is involved in these endeavors, you can bring about real change and understand where everybody’s at.”

Behind enemy lines

A developer with more than 10 years of experience working in digital forensics and incident response, Jamie Levy is happiest when her day job encompasses both development and investigative work. The Director of R&D relishes her position as an ally for the 99 percent, leaving her previous role away from enemy lines to aid in Huntress’ mission. “I felt like I needed to get back to chasing the bad guys,” Levy said. “Working at Huntress gives me the perfect opportunity to build things while also giving smaller companies the tools they need to survive.”
