Since joining GumGum about two years ago, Kevin Nguyen has faced complex challenges — and overcome them. This emphasis on learning led him to join the VOICE Coalition, which has enabled him to participate in exciting projects and spearhead events. Nguyen has also taken part in hackathons, where he has pitched ideas to the executive team. “I feel a strong sense of belonging through the connections I’ve made, and I know that my passion for continuing to grow both as a solutions engineer and an individual within the company will be well-received,” Nguyen said.

Leticia Ortiz-Morazan

A first-generation American, Leticia Ortiz-Morazan hasn’t always felt like she belonged in the tech industry — but at GumGum, she feels right at home. Ortiz-Morazan said the company offers a safe space for employees to share their voices while embracing diverse heritages, backgrounds and life experiences. Her participation in listening sessions and events held by the company’s Latinx ERG, HOLA, has made her feel even prouder to be a Latina. “GumGum allows me to show up every day as my true and authentic self and actively hears my voice and accepts it with open arms,” Ortiz-Morazan said.

After accepting her role at GumGum, Corey Flemming no longer felt out of place in a working environment. She said the company’s open, humanizing culture has enabled her to succeed professionally and openly discuss the trials she faces as a neurodivergent individual. Flemming’s involvement with the VOICE Coalition has allowed her to share her story, find a sense of community and stress the importance of acknowledging neurodiversity. “This shared sense of trust and respect is why I love that I belong here at GumGum,” she said.
