Emerald Cloud Lab Benefits Overview

Designs and maintains software and laboratory support systems for automated biology and chemistry experiments. Responsibilities include improving laboratory operations, managing inventory and assets, updating Emerald’s software library, troubleshooting experiments and instrumentation, conducting data analysis, and developing automation solutions. Requires a Chemistry or Biology Ph.D., two years of relevant experience, Mathematica coding skills, experimental design expertise, and willingness to learn programming and robotic automation.

Design and develop scalable backend APIs and services for cloud-based scientific research and laboratory automation. Lead technical and product direction, ensure high availability through observability and on-call support, troubleshoot performance and security issues, participate in code reviews, and promote maintainable engineering practices. Work with scientists and engineers on data stores, sensor services, distributed execution, simulations, and experiment data processing using Go, Python, Rust, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Provides broad in-house legal support across commercial, product, technology, and corporate operations. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating agreements, advising business teams, supporting privacy and security compliance, maintaining legal playbooks, assisting with fundraising and M&A, managing outside counsel, and supporting IP, governance, employment, and FDA GxP compliance matters.
