The Developmental Editor performs substantive manuscript edits, evaluates proposals, supports book acquisitions, and manages authors and publishing projects through production. Responsibilities include improving content flow, structure, syntax, and accuracy; resolving copyediting issues; researching market opportunities; preparing acquisition materials; tracking schedules; and maintaining communication with authors and internal teams. The role requires strong editorial judgment, knowledge of Christian publishing and Scripture, familiarity with Chicago style, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
