Cato Institute Benefits Overview

Lead editorial and logistical work for audio and video podcasts: develop scripts/outlines, prep guests, coordinate recording and post-production with engineers and editors, write episode metadata, and manage production schedules and promotion with communications teams.

Develop and execute federal engagement strategies for a portfolio of domestic policy issues. Build and maintain relationships with members of Congress and executive-branch staff; identify opportunities for Cato scholars to testify or provide statements; track congressional developments; distribute scholarship to policymakers; coordinate with federal affairs staff and scholars; organize events and outreach to influence policy debates while protecting Cato's reputation.

Lead all HR functions for ~210 staff, including recruitment, benefits, compliance, compensation, performance management, HR policy, and organizational development. Manage a small HR team, partner with senior leadership on strategy and culture, and steward HR systems (Paylocity) and technology adoption, including ethical AI tools. On-site in Washington, DC at least two days per week.
