Launching an Industry Forward

They say the grass is always greener on the other side, and for Yaron Alfi, that looked like a greenfield opportunity to develop ABL’s homegrown factory operating system, Sia. With a background in aerospace engineering and manufacturing, Alfi enjoys not only working to scale the organization, but also continuously improving and supporting the systems that teams across the company use to build, test and launch rockets efficiently. His role even extends into product management, working closely with key stakeholders to set and map out the company’s product vision.

Whether the mission is to gather “useful data about our planet” or demonstrate the capability of new technologies, Amanda Knez gets to work with a variety of spacecraft, customers and internal teams. Throughout the course of a program, mission or licensure, Knez interacts with everyone from finance and media to legal and logistics. “Every day is different,” she said. Collaborating with a vastly knowledgeable group of individuals may come naturally, but to ensure the process is effective, she relies on her colleagues to stay organized, be communicative and think with a big-picture mindset.
