Sara Thiel is the associate director for editorial at Built In. Previously, she was an editor overseeing Built In’s national and international tech news coverage, as well as comprehensive industry lists. Dr. Thiel joined the company in 2021. At Built In, she developed content for Built In’s Expert Contributors Network and launched the Tech Dictionary. In that role, Thiel managed a team of over 20 expert contributors. Before joining Built In, she managed adult education programs at Chicago Shakespeare Theater from 2018-2021. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and has taught at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Illinois.
