Dr. Alexander Sauer-Budge is the co-founder and chief technology officer at SAVVI Financial, where he leads product development and technology architecture. With a background in both quantitative finance and advanced computational modeling, he brings a unique perspective to building solutions that help individuals make smarter, data-driven financial decisions.

Prior to founding SAVVI, Alex was an associate portfolio manager at RiverSource Investments, where he led quantitative research efforts across international, emerging and domestic equity markets. He also co-directed the development of quantitative trading systems and financial databases.

Alex began his career in aerospace engineering, earning his B.S. in aeronautical and mechanical engineering with highest honors from the University of California, Davis. He went on to earn an M.S. in aeronautics and astronautics and a doctorate in computational fluid dynamics with a minor in optimization methods from MIT. His academic work focused on the reliability and trustworthiness of computational methods, and he has published research in several leading technical journals.

Today, Alex applies his passion for rigorous, trustworthy systems to the challenge of improving financial outcomes for individuals and families. He is a registered investment adviser representative.
