Zebu Intelligent Systems, which develops drone systems and counter-drone technologies, secured $1 million in pre-Series A funding, according to reporting by The Hindu Businessline.

Deep tech investor Bluehill VC led the financing round, which Zebu will put toward field testing its products, accelerating their path to battlefield deployment. The Hyderabad-based defense tech startup has multiple solutions in the works for the Indian armed forces and aims to be a leading military supplier.

Zebu’s uncrewed systems also have enterprise use cases. For example, the company developed an agriculture drone that enables automated precision spraying of pesticides and fertilizers.

The Hindu Businessline reported Zebu is looking to bring on a CBO and defense advisors as it expands in both the military and commercial markets.
