Xero, a company offering accounting software solutions for small businesses, announced plans to acquire Melio, a bill payments platform. The integration of Melio’s tech will allow Xero to serve accounting, invoicing and bill pay customers from a single platform.
Melio works to streamline payment workflows, providing various methods tailored to meet each business’s unique needs. It works to grant small businesses increased visibility and control over every payment being made, consequently assisting accountants with managing cash flow.
Following the acquisition, Xero will embed Melio’s full functionality into its platform, serving both new and existing customers through a fully integrated payment solution. The combined toolset will allow customers to pay their bills without ever leaving Xero’s platform.
