Waabi, a Toronto-based autonomous trucking company, has appointed Lior Ron as its new chief operating officer to help scale its commercial operations in preparation for the public launch of its driverless trucks later this year.

According to reporting by TechCrunch, Ron is a well-known figure in the logistics and autonomous driving industry, having previously served as CEO of Uber Freight, which began a partnership with Waabi in 2023 to accelerate the safe, large-scale deployment of AI-powered autonomous trucks.
