Vanguard, a U.S.-based investment management company, has opened its first global capability center in Hyderabad, which the company said will serve as one of its largest technology hubs worldwide.

The center is expected to employ around 300 people by the end of this year and expand to over 2,300 by 2029, focusing on areas like cloud modernization, data analytics and cybersecurity in coordination with the company’s existing centers to accelerate digital platform development.

“This investment in our capabilities builds on a decade of work with technology partners in India, enabling us to directly access talent through a lasting Vanguard presence and increase the proportion of technology crew in our global workforce,” Nitin Tandon of Vanguard said in a statement.

Hyderabad aims to continue attracting global financial and technology firms, with Vanguard joining seven other leading asset management companies operating in the region.
