How Uber has Changed my Life
As a community activist and worker for the past six years, I have always worked in the non profit sector. None of my jobs have ever been very stable, and I have lost most of them due to lack of funding or organizations closing. In June 2013 I was laid off of my GED teaching job, and recently I lost my unemployment benefits in January.
With Uber I have been able to start recovering financially, while also planning my own high school motivational workshop that I will take into city schools. I am also a music artist (rapper) who can now work on her own schedule while still being able to generate income for bills.
Along with all of this, I’ve met some amazing people while driving for Uber. It has truly been a wonderful experience, and I have maintained a 5 star rating because I just love interacting with people! Uber has helped me keep my financial life in order so I can continue to create social change in my community. Thank you Uber!
Tips for Other Women Entrepreneurs
Set the example for other young women. As strong women we can get so wrapped up in what we’re doing that we can forget to reach back and show the younger generation what we’re capable of. A lot of young woman may not have good family structures and may not have that example. Continue doing what we do and being strong women.

uberX is a brilliant idea and concept. I was very intrigued when I was referred to drive for Uber. At first I was a little worried about being a women driver but after doing lots of research & reading great reviews I then felt safe. My first night driving was Super Bowl Sunday and since then I’ve met some great people and also had been able to catch up on some past due bills. uberX is convenient and fits my hectic schedule perfectly. I am a single mother and this helps me be there for my son and helps to provide for him. I am very THANKFUL for this opportunity.

How Uber has Changed my Life
Driving for Uber has allowed me to maintain my freedom as a self employed person without spending a lot of time and money to re-educate myself in the professional arena. As a woman nearing retirement age, jobs are hard to come by. Uber has allowed me to use my driving skills, meet and talk to people who ride with me, set my own hours and keep an income coming in without a substantial output of time and money.
Uber has improved the quality of my life tremendously.

The greatest thing about being an entreprenueur is that you have the freedom to set your own hours. It’s a freedom that allows you to run your household and your family. With incredible freedom comes incredible responsibility – make sure you are aware of that!

How Uber has Changed my Life
uberX is my primary source of income right now. I’m a full time student struggling and extremely happy uberX entered my life. After losing my prior job, waitressing over 5 years, I gave up faith and started receiving unemployment benefits. Since uberX, I was able to be in the category “working American” and get off unemployment. I love the fact that I’m able to make my own schedule and this helps me with my busy academics.
